Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

Desk and Chair as promised

I'm a bit sore again today. I have mainly been standing at my new desk (picture below), so don't really know why. Maybe it's not my coccyx today....but that's where the pain is, well, there and all around actually.

It is good having the option to stand. My coccyx definitely appreciates it, just not sure my other health problems do :-(

I do alternate with my chair. Picture below. So, I'm not sure why I'm in pain now. Maybe it's just a bad day. It does tire me out though. It would be so nice to go one whole day being COMPLETELY pain free. I'm only taking Paracetamol, so maybe if I took additional analgesia it would help. In the past it hasn't though, and they were not worth the side effects.

Anyway, I'm going to keep busy and do some housework now, then maybe have a lie down. Failing that, I'll turn to my old reliable heat pad!

I'm hoping when I'm back out in the community visiting patients alternating visits, with car and office things will be ok. I won't be just doing one thing every day. That's not a complaint however, as I am enjoying office work at the moment and learning lots. I'm also appreciative of the fact I'm having a slow introduction back into things after such a long time off (6 weeks over Christmas, and another week after recent surgery).
