Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

Physio session 8

Just a quick update. Physio session 8 today. Internally remains improved- muscles are responding correctly; tightening and relaxing normally.

External massage of both buttocks very tender. The whole area feels bruised. The physio massaged for about 15 minutes. During the massage, although painful it was strangely pleasant! The whole area felt good for maybe an hour, but then the pain starts to creep back again.

There are definite, pronounced areas of hard, fibrosed tissue under my buttocks. The same pressure used during massage, applied to other areas causes no pain at all there, but my buttocks are very sore.

I am therefore carrying on with this treatment. I have noticed an improvement internally. Because I am sure the external work will eventually achieve the same results: I remain confident.

That being said I still intend to get my coil removed (see earlier blog).

Don't care what stops my pain, as long as it stops.
