Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

My photo
I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

A night away

I had a lovely couple of days. My daughter and I went to Highclere (Downton Abbey), and soaked up the Christmas spirit at their Christmas Fair. Then spent a night at a spa. It was lovely getting spoilt, and being indulged. Had a nice swim and a really lovely hour long massage. Wish I could afford that every week.

The journey (pain wise) wasn't too bad, and I managed to choose comfortable seats whenever we sat anywhere.

Back home now and uncomfortable again already, despite being sat on my coccyx cut out cushion.

Tramadol and paracetamol due in half an hour. I didn't take it last night or this morning due to drinking last night and driving today. I reckoned I was better to err on the side of caution. But I definitely have a build up of pain now.

At least I have another week off to get myself ready mentally. I know it's going to be tough going back to work, and won't get cut any slack, and it's bound to be busy in the community in the build up to Christmas.

Positive thoughts!
