Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

My photo
I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

Today's study day

Despite requesting a hard chair, or table to lean on this had not been prepared in advance for me. However the lady running the session was so sympathetic and helpful it made me feel better. She found me a place to sit where I could lean on a table. She had apparently damaged her coccyx in the past, so totally understood my discomfort. It does amuse me though that nobody likes to mention 'coccyx' or 'tailbone' pain...but 'back' pain is acceptable!
And I still got 'looks' from the other participants when I sat separate from them :( I wish coccydynia was as acceptable to discuss as back pain.
