Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

Today - gym and socialising.

Todays not been too bad. The trick is to keep busy and mobile- which I guess is obvious really. Less time sat on my tailbone!
So this morning I gymed, and this afternoon I visited my sister. So although I was sat in the car and on her sofa (uncomfortably!) at least it was a change in seating. Then a trip to the supermarket.
Tomorrow I am back to work after two days off. I'm a bit dubious as I have a study session in the afternoon for 4 hours, so I could struggle a bit. I have emailed them and asked for either a hard seat, or an option to be able to lean forward onto a table. Both of these seem to help. A hard seat allows me to sit correctly, with good posture, using my sitting bones, and leaning forward takes the pressure off.
We'll see.
