Nurse who suffers chronic tailbone pain

My photo
I am a Registered Nurse who has suffered with tailbone pain for over 8 years. Like all chronic pain, it is essential that sufferers get the correct support, diagnosis and treatment appropriate for them as an individual. This blog follows my journey with chronic pain, it expresses my personal opinions and thoughts. It is not intended as a replacement for advice or treatment from your normal Healthcare Provider.

Study day

A day spent sitting :-(

After dosing myself up on painkillers, finding a different chair to everyone else, and a table to lean on to take the weight off my coccyx, and generally being a bit of a diva in some peoples eyes no doubt, I managed to sit through today. But the pain is awful. Any other type of pain would be easier to hide or explain away. I'm too much of a wimp (too embarrassed people will think I have piles!) to take any one of my various cushions to sit on. Not that these cushions really help anyway.

Home now though....but what to do?! Anyone else would sit and relax on a comfy seat with a cuppa. I have a cuppa but that's where it ends.

So, more painkillers and a heated bean bag.
